The San Romolo a Fiesole Church in Florence
San Romolo is the Cathedral, which is the seat of the Bishop to administer the Diocese of Fiesole. Performs this function since the 11th century, when it was raised, and took the place of the previous Cathedral, i.e. the Badia of Fiesole. The beautiful church dedicated to San Romolo is located in the heart of the Pearl overlooking Florence. From outside you could imagine much more ' small but when you enter you are really impressed by the height and the length of the aisle. The interior retains a massive Romanesque-style facility reminiscent of s. Miniato al Monte. In 1990 were put to light archaeological evidence relating mainly to the seniority of the Roman capitolium, formerly variously located in other parts of the city.
