The Santa Maria del Carmine Church in Florence
The Church of Santa Maria del Carmine is impressive with a Flake raw stone facade and the brick piazza del Carmine. The Foundation dates back to the end of the 13th century and sides you can still see traces of the original gothic structure, while the facade in stone masonry and brick is left unfinished. The Church is a Latin cross with a single nave with five chapels on each side, in one of the chapels is also a painting by Giorgio Vasari. Behind the choir stands the marble funeral monument of Piero Soderini, executed by Benedetto da Rovezzano. To visit you have to go sideways. It stands out in all its beauty. In the chorus, fresco by Domenico Stagi, contains a large organ and the monument to Pier Soderini by Benedetto da Rovezzano.
